2013 SLL Opening Day Information, please read!

1-1-1 (Can anyone guess what this is referring to?)

It is Spring on the ball fields of Sturbridge!  Temperatures were more than tolerable last night as the 2013 Cards upset the undefeated Rockies with a tie score to end the game in five innings.  A what?  A tie?  In baseball?  Inconceivable! (nod to Princess Bride)

So many great pitches thrown last night and hello, MISTER Anderson - diving catch in center field!  Connor snagging a low line drive to the mound!  Sweeeeeet!

Friday's game has been rained out.

Practice will be held at 5:30 on Sunday at the TRJHS.

There will be an optional practice held 10am on Monday at theTRHS Softball field.

Practice will be held at 5:30 on Thursday at the TRHS Softball field.

I realize this is vacation week, but still feel the boys will benefit from as many practices as possible.  I hope to see you all there!

G-g-g-g-g-g-reat job, C-C-C-C-C-C-ardinals!!!

Yeah, so what if it was just a scrimmage?  And so what if we did only play three and a half sorta innings?  The 2013 SLL Cardinals looked great!  Despite the dropping temperatures and the whipping winds, you guys ROCKED THE FIELD!

A few reminders ...

Bring a jacket to the field - it's still ch-ch-ch-ch-chilly in the evenings, so be prepared.  Coats/sweatshirts are NOT allowed to cover your team jersey while on the field, but long sleeve shirts can certainly be worn under uniforms to help keep you warm.

Water/gum/seeds will be provided.  If you are chipping in to cover the cost, Elisa K. will be collecting on Wednesday.  Hopefully, the second cooler won't leak like the first one did.

Boys - do NOT spit your gum out on the field, in the dugout, behind the dugout -- basically anywhere but IN the trash bins.  Used cups and gum wrappers should be thrown in the trash right away so the wind doesn't carry them out to center field.

TBA - scheduling conflicts with the HS Softball Team are being worked out.  Stay tuned for time/location changes to Sunday practice(s).

If you are unable to attend any scheduled practice or game, please let a coach know as soon as possible.  Late arrivals and no-shows have a tendency to create gaps in the roster and line-up, so if you can't make it, or will be late, just let someone know!
